Life, update, etc

I feel bad about not blogging in what feels like, forever! So much has happened in my life. I'm still in Lakes, for now. Hermione is still a ratbag. (somethings will never change. haha)

I am about 3/4 of my way through my Cert 4 in Allied Health Assistance course. I've decided to further my education again. So I've applied for Latrobe Uni for next year. Not holding my breath, but it would be nice to get in while I'm on a study roll. :) I have decided Pediatric Occupational Therapy is the direction for my life. Having Hermione, with all her issues, has really inspired me. I love her to bits, and want to help other children like her.

So in 2 months, we will make the big move to Melbourne. Just in case. If not, well I have my certificates to fall back on. They are screaming for AHA's in Melb.

Hermione has already been accepted into a preschool in Melb. She's so excited about going to a new school. (Coz all 5 year olds go to a big new school, mum) I hope she gets on as well as she does here in Lakes.

I think I have found a new OT for her, for when we get to Melbourne. Her speechy was talking about getting her into LaTrobe for speech therapy. Now just need to see the Pediatricion on Monday for a referal for a new ped, and we are set!

*fingers crossed* everything goes to plan!

I know I don't update this anywhere near as much as I should. I just can't seem to find the time. (Or the news)

But I got into Cert 4 in Allied Health Assistance this year. Woohoo. Go me!

wish list

when we first moved into this place, roughly 3 months ago, i wrote a large wish list of what i wanted to get. We basically moved in with clothes, some personal items (toys, dvds, cds, tv, etc) and a few other small bits and pieces. It came with a bed, couch and dinning room table. So you could imagine just how much we needed to buy.

But i am now happy to report, i have marked off everything on my list. The last being bookcases and a shoe rack.

Woohoo. Go me!!! Lol

About Hermione

Hermione, (or Mynie or Moo) is a 3 and a half special needs girl. She had high lead levels from living in Mount Isa, qld. That has caused her speech delay, developmental delay (mostly fine motor skills) and behaviour problems.

But she can be a sweet child.

She has many obsessions, pooh bear, cats, ducks, clocks, mickey mouse and horses to name a few.

About me.

Well, most basic stuff is in the profile. I grew up in victoria, moved to queensland just before my 21st. Then moved back to vic, with hermione, 7 years later.

I currently work in home support, looking into doing allied health next year. I want to be an Occupational Therapist.

I also volunteer as a trainee breastfeeding counselor for Australian Breastfeeding Association.

I also do volenteer work for the pplitical party 'Australian Sex Party.'

Starting over...

Since we are starting our lives over, jus Hermione and me, I have also decided to start this blog over. Don't worry if you are a new reader, you'll catch up pretty quickly.

Hermione and I have recently move to Lakes Entrance, vic. We are finally living alone. I got myself a traineeship in home and community care, and Mynie goes to daycare (kindy) 3 and a half days a week.
